Staying up? Here’s how you can watch The Oscars in Ireland tonight

Jade Hayden

The Oscars are on tonight, in case you didn’t know.

The 91st Academy Awards will take place tonight’s in Hollywood’s Dolby Theatre in what’s sure to be a night of surprising wins, stunning outfits, and selfies that don’t involve pizza or Ellen DeGeneres.

This year’s Oscars may not have a host (Kevin Hart dropped out of his presenting duties following swathes of backlash over old homophobic tweets he shared), but it will have a lot of great films – and even greater actors.

Expecting to very much clean up at tonight’s awards is Irish produced film, The Favourite.

Yorgos Lanthimos’ hilarious and oddly touching movie starring Olivia Colman, Emma Stone, and Rachel Weizs is leading the nominations for 2019 with an impressive 10 nods.

Also up there is Alfonso Cuaron’s Roma, with the same number of nominations, Bohemian Rhapsody with five nods and Green Book with the same.

But none of this really matters unless you’re planning on actually watching the ceremony, does it?

So, if you’re planning on staying up and having the Oscars 2019 sesh of your dreams, here’s exactly where you can watch the 91st Academy Awards here in Ireland.

The ceremony will be broadcast between 1am and 4am on Sky Cinema Oscars. It will also be available on NOW TV for users with a Sky Cinema pass.

The red carpet will kick off on Sky Cinema Oscars from 10pm, with Sky One also showing the same at midnight.

If you’re not all that bothered with staying awake though, the highlights from the Oscars will be on Sky One tomorrow night at 9pm and Sky Cinema Oscars at 8pm.

It’ll also be all over the internet by that stage, no doubt, so just watch the highlights there either.

Enjoy.
