Ah, Steve.
He’s a good lad at heart, but sometimes he just gets a little carried away, a little angry, a little bit unable to control his emotions when confronted with difficult scenarios that may or may not involve him.
One such scenario came last week when he and Tracy decide to reveal to daughter Amy that they knew she was pregnant.
Naturally, as a parent, you’re going to get a bit stressed out, but Steve was a whole other level of Not OK and decided to shout and scream and wave a pregnancy test in Amy’s face just to really hammer home the fact that he, you know, knew she was pregnant.
The scene didn’t really sit well with a lot of people who thought that Steve was being seriously insensitive considering his daughter wasn’t exactly delighted about the news either.
Tonight, however, Steve appears to have a decent enough change of heart when he decides to tell Amy he’ll support her whatever she chooses – and even suggests to raise her child as his own if she doesn’t feel ready.
Go on, Steve.
The scenes come following dad-to-be’s Tyler’s attempt to force Amy into having an abortion.
And she nearly does and all, having booked the appointment for the procedure, when the 14-year-old admits that she isn’t sure whether a termination is what she wants.
Steve offers to parent the child seeing as he and Tracy had briefly considered having another baby anyway.
Tracy isn’t entirely up for the idea, but she’s not exactly against it either, as the couple decided that what happens does have to be up to Amy.
Only problem is Tyler probably won’t be all that delighted to hear he will technically still become a dad.
Grim.
