Oooh, this isn’t good,

The Stranger Things creators are being sued for apparently copying a movie script.

According to TMZ, a writer named Charlie Kessler said that the plot of Stranger Things is based on a short film he wrote called Montauk.

Montauk is based on the American government carrying out top secret projects in the US, and Charlie says that he was going to make it into a feature length film called The Montauk Project.

He also claims that he went to the Duffer brothers with the movie script in 2014, however they said that they weren’t interested in working with him.

Because of this, Charlie is suing for breach of an implied contract, is seeking damages as well as an injunction which means Matt and Ross Duffer will not be able to write anything else based on his movie scripts.

The Duffer brothers have yet to comment on the matter.
