Strewth! A Cork electrician is set to star in Home and Away

Amy Nolan

The Cork man was spotted in a Sydney café.

It’s a mad one, but thirty-one-year-old Cork native, Keiren Noonan, is set to appear in the Australian soap, Home and Away.

Keiren emigrated from Ireland six years ago and ever before pursuing a career in acting, he was working as an electrician on projects like Sidney light rail.

Loved for decades, Home and Away first hit our screens in 1988 and has featured many famous faces such as Heath Ledger, Isla Fisher, and Naomi Watts. And now we’ve got one of our own cropping up in Summer Bay.

Kieren was minding his own business one day when the opportunity struck. He told The Irish Sun,

“I was just in a cafe when an agent approached me and asked me if I had ever acted before. She gave me her card and asked me to contact her if I was interested, so I said I’d give it a go.”

He was reportedly delighted and overwhelmed by his new gig as an actor and was excited to film with Patrick O’Connor, who plays Dean Thompson in the series.

Keiren has now got his sights set on Hollywood as he plans to secure an agent stateside.

We’re sure he will be a great addition to the high calibre of Irish actors like Colin Farrell, Donal Gleeson and Saoirse Ronan – to name but a few. His story just goes to show that opportunity can come knocking at any time and often when you least expect it.

Now, I wonder if they need a Cork gal to star alongside him?
