Sarah McKenna Barry

Ah lads, we can’t handle this.

If you’ve been following this season of Strictly Come Dancing, then you’ve likely been blown away by the performances of EastEnders star Rose Ayling-Ellis and her professional partner Giovanni Pernice.

The couple have been absolutely nailing it in the competition, and they even made history last month after nabbing the earliest perfect score, with their Tango to Shivers by Ed Sheeran.

Over the weekend, Rose and Giovanni wowed fans once more with their Samba to Cinema Italiano by Kate Hudson.

After receiving a perfectly respectable 32 from the judges (each judge gave them an 8), Rose and Giovanni safely secured their place in next week’s episode, much to the delight of viewers.

However, it wasn’t just their dance that moved fans. Audiences were equally wowed by Giovanni’s passionate speech about his partner.

The 31-year-old dancer spoke to Claudia Winkleman after their performance, saying: “She’s definitely the best thing that has happened.

“I might be the dance teacher, but this year, I’m learning myself new things.”

He continued: “The thing is not just about dancing, we spend so much time together. And I’m the one who is privileged to be dancing with you. So thank you very much.”

Needless to say, fans were touched by Giovanni’s emotional speech.

Over on Twitter, one viewer wrote: “What a beautiful speech from @pernicegiovann1 about being paired with @RoseAylingEllis you two are absolutely fantastic!”

Another agreed saying: “Rose and Giovanni really are a joy to watch. Wonderful people learning and enriching each other’s lives.”

A third fan captured the feeling of viewers everywhere by simply saying: “Rose n Giovanni, I’m not crying you are #Strictly [sic]”.

Rose not only made history by securing the earliest perfect score on this season’s history, but she’s also the show’s first ever deaf contestant.
