Sunday fear? Here are the 7 best movies on TV this evening

Ones to watch!

Carl Kinsella

Settle your Sunday nerves with a film.

It’s Sunday, Ireland have won the rugby, we’re all back in work tomorrow and it’s pissing down outside. What better cure than to relax on the couch and absorb yourself in one of these nice movies?

We’ve picked the seven best movies on TV to help you out.

About Time – E4 – 6.30pm

Time-travelling rom-com starring Domhnall Gleeson. Actually a really good movie.

Lord of the Rings: Return of the King – ITV2 – 6.45pm

The final instalment of Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings trilogy. Features the iconic Battle of the Pelennor Fields.

Groundhog Day – SyFy – 7pm

One of Bill Murray’s finest ever outings. He plays a weather reporter forced to live the same day over and over again. Comedy cold.

Zoolander 2 – Comedy Central 9pm

The sequel to the iconic Zoolander movie didn’t really live up to the original, but it’s still good for a few laughs.

Death Wish 3 – ITV 4 – 10.10pm

The lone vigilante moves into a crumbling New York tenement and plans his revenge on the thugs who have murdered a close friend, and whose feuds and gang wars are terrifying the elderly tenants. Stars the great Charles Bronson.

The Seventh Seal – BBC Four – 10.55pm

A disillusioned knight returns home from the Crusades to find his home ravaged by the Black Death. He is soon confronted by the Grim Reaper, who tells him it is his time. In order to prolong his life, he challenges the spectral figure to a game of chess, and as they play, he reflects on life, death and the existence of God. It’s super weird, and regarded as one of the best films of all time.

I Love You, Man – Comedy Central – 11pm

A buddy comedy starring the loveable Paul Rudd and Jason Segel. A nice feel-good film of a Sunday evening.
