The first trailer for Hulu's new true-crime series, The Act, is here - and it is seriously chilling.
The "seasonal anthology series" will examine some "startling, stranger-than-fiction" true crime stories - including the story of Gypsy Rose Blanchard and her mother, Dee Dee.
The trailer starts off as a kind of warm-and-fuzzy story of a loving and devoted mum raising her seriously ill daughter.

But things take a turn when it is revealed Gypsy may not be ill at all - before she is pictured in a court room, with the judge asking her: "Gypsy, did you kill your mom?"
Based on a
2016 article by Michelle Dean, the description for the first season reads:
"The first season follows Gypsy Blanchard, a girl trying to escape the toxic relationship she has with her overprotective mother.
"Her quest for independence opens a Pandora’s box of secrets, one that ultimately leads to murder."

It's not the first time that the story of Gypsy Rose and Dee Dee Blanchard has been brought to the screen.
HBO turned the chilling story into a documentary,
Mommy Dead and Dearest.
The Act is due to premiere on Hulu on March 20 - and we're keeping our fingers crossed it will be picked up somewhere over here, too.
