The favourite TV mother of all time has been revealed this week for Mother’s Day and it looks like it was a very close call.

Between the formidable Dowager Countess from Downton Abbey to the infamous Peggy Mitchell, there were a lot of legendary mammies to choose from.

However, it was a well-known Irish TV mammy who topped the poll carried out by Freesat, and it may come as no surprise to many of you that Brendan O’Carroll’s Mrs. Brown came in at number one.

She was followed by Marge Simpson, the Dowager Countess, Lois Griffin (Family Guy) and Penny Hart (Miranda).

The remainder of the top ten was made up of Alicia Florrick (The Good Wife), Gail McIntyre (Coronation Street), Susan Kennedy (Neighbours), Mrs. McKenzie (The Inbetweeners) and Peggy Mitchell (EastEnders).
