The trailer for Nightflyers is here and Game of Thrones fans will have new nightmares

Paul Moore

Filmed entirely in Limerick and a real treat for horror fans.

Board at your own risk because Nightflyers is coming.

The new show from the creator of Game of Thrones, George R.R Martin, is one of the most highly-anticipated shows of the year and the first trailer has just been released.

In case you’re not familiar, Nightflyers follows eight maverick scientists and a powerful telepath who embark on an expedition to the edge of our solar system aboard The Nightflyer – a ship with a small tight-knit crew and a reclusive captain.

Why are they going on this dangerous expedition? Well, they’re hoping to make contact with alien life.

Like any expedition into the deepest and darkest territories of space, things take a very sinister turn.

When terrifying and violent events begin to take place on the ship, the crew begin to question each other and surviving the journey will prove to be much harder than anyone thought.

Nightflyers is based on the novella by George R. R. Martin, who also serves as an executive producer on the show, and it’s produced by Universal Cable Productions and co-produced by Netflix.

Gretchen Mol (Boardwalk Empire) stars as Dr. Agatha Matheson alongside Eoin Macken (The Night Shift) as Karl D’Branin. Rounding off the cast are David Ajala (Fast & Furious 6) as Roy Eris, Sam Strike (EastEnders) as Thale, Maya Eshet (Teen Wolf) as Lommie, Angus Sampson (Fargo) as Rowan, Jodie Turner-Smith (The Last Ship) as Melantha Jhirl and Brían F. O’Byrne (Million Dollar Baby) as Auggie.

The ten episodes of Nightflyers will air on Netflix in 2019.
