It was one of the greatest films of the 90s.

After years of speculation and months of rumours, the sequel to 1996 hit Trainspotting has been confirmed, with proof! HUZZAH!

Danny Boyle’s cult classic has been given a release date and the cast has been spotted in Edinburgh filming scenes for the sequel, apparently named T2.

Fans will remember Trainspotting featured actors such as Ewen McGregor, Ewen Bremner, Jonny Lee Miller and Robert Carlyle playing the roles of a group of heroin addicts in a disadvantaged area of Edinburgh in the 1980’s.

The movie was based on a novel of the same name by British author Irvine Welsh.

T2 will feature all the original cast members in their previous roles and will see Danny Boyle return to the director’s chair.

The new movie will be based on the same author’s 2002 novel Porno and will feature the four main characters Spud, Renton, Begbie and Sick Boy getting involved in the pornography industry.

A video teaser was also uploaded to Youtube containing some footage from the original film and a voice over from lead man, Ewan McGregor.

The sequel will be in cinemas January 27, 2017.
