The build-up to Strictly Come Dancing is escalating every day.

As more and more celebrity stars are confirmed for the BBC show, it is clear that the lineup will be as glittering as the costumes.

The tenth celebrity to be confirmed for the ballroom is… *drumroll*… The Wanted’s Jay McGuiness.

Jay is the tenth celebrity to be confirmed for the show.

The Glad You Came singer has found himself with time on his hands following the band’s decision to take a break after 6 years together and so snapped up the opportunity to hone his dancing skills on the talent show.

The 25-year-old said on BBC Radio 1: “I love to dance but this is going to be so different from anything I have done before, I’m up for it.”

The Wanted are currently taking a break.

He also revealed that dancing was not The Wanted’s forte.

He added: “In the group we were about as coordinated as a sack of frogs, so they gave up and made us stand in different positions and walk around a bit, and we struggled with that.”

Jay revealed that the band struggled with choreography.

The heartthrob’s biggest fear? Completely blanking on his moves.

He said: “I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone just stand there for the entire duration of the song, and I really don’t want to be the first.”

Jay will join Jeremy Vine, Ainsley Harriot, Kellie Bright, Georgia May Foote, Katie Derham, Carol Kirkwood, Peter Andre, Daniel O’ Donnell and Anthony Ogogo.

The show returns to BBC on September 5th with Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman at the helm.
