There’s apparently a spinoff of The Originals on the way with two fan favourites

Keeley Ryan

First there was The Vampire Diaries, then there was the spin-off, The Originals.

And now it looks like there could be a spin-off of The Originals underway.

According to Variety, Matt Davis and Danielle Rose Russell, who play Alaric Saltzman and Hope Mikaelsson, are attached to a potential spin-off series.

The project has not been ordered to series at the CW and it currently remains in development.

Quincy Fouse, Jenny Boyd, Kaylee Bryant, and Aria Shaoghasemi are also signed on for the series.

None of them have made an appearance on The Originals just yet, but TVLine reports that Aria Shaoghasemi will appear in season 5.

He will begin his appearance in the series’ final season as Landon, a “thoughtful, compassionate and self-aware kid from the wrong side of the tracks who catches Hope’s attention when she witnesses him being bullied by his affluent classmates.”

The CW’s president Mark Pedowitz said there had been preliminary talks with The Originals and The Vampire Diaries creator Julie Plec about a spin-off centering on Hope

He said at the time:

“There’s been many conversations about the character Hope.

“Nothing has come out of it yet. Julie really wants to get the final season of ‘The Originals’ done.”
