Bridgerton fans fell in love with Queen Charlotte (Golda Rosheuvel) during the first season, and it's safe to say we cannot wait to learn more about her in this spin-off.
The news of the prequel comes as production continues on the show's hugely anticipated second season. On top of that, Bridgerton's creator, Chris Van Dusen confirmed in April that the series has been renewed for a third and fourth season.
Earlier this year, many Bridgerton fans were disappointed to learn that leading man Regé-Jean Page would not be returning for season two.
While Page's character Simon was the focus for much of season one, season two will explore Lord Anthony Bridgerton's (Jonathan Bailey) quest for love.
Season two will also see the introduction of a whole new cast of characters. Among them is Theo Sharpe, who will be played by Irish actor Calam Lynch.Explore more on these topics:
