Class.

If we know one thing about the Ploughing, it’s that people love the Ploughing.

It’s got everything one could ever want from an annual Irish countryside based affair: ploughing, lads on tractor, and a load of food.

Stunning display over a couple day period.

And it’s all about to get more stunning because there’s a Ploughing Championship documentary airing this Christmas so you can experience the magic of the plough all over again.

Anna May – Banríon An Plough tells the story of Anna May McHugh, the event’s managing director, as she gets ready for yet another year of agriculture and trade in Screggan, Co. Offaly.

The national treasure has been at the helm of the Ploughing for 67 years, organising the event and working tirelessly to ensure that everything goes off without a hitch each year.

The TG4 doc will follow Anna May to give audiences “… an insight into the current event, as well as her deep historical knowledge, going back to the 1940s.

“Incorporating footage from this year’s ill-fated Championships, along with archive footage from previous decades, this is a compelling account of what the Championship organisers had to do when faced with the devastating winds of Storm Ali.

“For only the second time in it’s 87 year history, the event was forced to close it’s doors to the public.”

Gripping stuff ahead lads, we’re tellin’ ye.

Get the Sky Box on.

Anna May; Banríon An Plough will be on TG4 on Christmas Day at 9.25pm
