When it comes to love and dating and all those harrowing things that come with them, Coronation Street‘s Sophie Webster hasn’t exactly had the best luck.
She’s been madly in love with Kate Connor, she’s fought with Kate Connor, she’s absolutely hated Kate Connor’s guts, and then she’s been alone.
The standard trajectory of every modern romance, to be honest.
And, look, we’ve all been there lads, no judgement, no shame, but it’s about time Sophie had something – or someone – nice in her life, you know?
Afterall, she hasn’t really been doing a whole lot on the cobbles with Phelan running around because, honestly, why would you be bothered?
It looks like all of that might be about to change though because Sophie’s about to get a new love interest in the form of her mother’s lawyer, who is apparently a cougar.
Yeah, really.
The Sun reports that Sally Webster is going to have to get in touch with her old friend, the lawyer, when she accidentally gives a load of charity money away to a fraudster… because of course she did.
Anyway, when the lawyer shows up, she shows an immediate interest in Sophie.
And Sophie, being someone who absolutely needs a bit of excitement in her life, is into it… which would all be well and good except Sally is pretty much furious due to the age gap between the two.
Now, we don’t know whether this lawyer woman is actually going around referring to herself as a cougar, or if she’s just being unfairly described as one because she’s a bit older and happens to have fallen for a younger woman.
Honestly, who knows, but whatever happens, things are about to get messy AF for just about everyone involved.
