With the success of The Big Bang Theory, a prequel was pretty much a given.
And it was somewhat inevitable that the prequel would follow the show’s most beloved (or most annoying, depending on your viewpoint) character, Sheldon.
The trailer for Young Sheldon has landed and it actually looks pretty funny.
It stars Iain Armitage, who recently stole hearts as Ziggy in Big Little Lies, as Sheldon and Zoe Perry as Sheldon’s mum.
Interestingly, she’s the daughter of Laurie Metcalfe, who plays Sheldon’s mum in the original show.
Young Sheldon looks at little different as the producers have switched things up from The Big Bang Theory in terms of style.
The studio-filmed sitcom is gone – this is a much more modern-looking single-camera show and thankfully there’s no laugh track.
It looks like Sheldon is still the same obnoxious Sheldon though – check out the trailer here.
