Olly Murs and Caroline Flack have emerged as the frontrunners to replace Dermot O’Leary on The X Factor.
After eight years presenting the singing competition, the popular host announced on Twitter last night that he is leaving the show and wished good luck to his replacement, saying they are about to become “the conductor on the most brilliant, runaway train in showbiz”.
According to The Daily Mail, former Xtra Factor presenters Olly Murs and Caroline Flack are currently in negotiations to take over the role but a spokesperson for the show denied that any decision had been made.
“No decisions have been taken on who will replace Dermot as host of The X Factor. An announcement will be made in due course.”
