The country's latest television channel UTV Ireland has gone live tonight, with an hour-long special from Pat Kenny.
The highly-anticipated debut began at 7.25pm tonight and the night's offerings will include an extended episode of Emmerdale, followed by Out with the Old – In with the U hosted by former The Late Late Show presenter Pat Kenny.
"As well as Emmerdale and Coronation Street, the channel has exclusive access to all ITV Studios content made for ITV’s main channel and we’re acquiring some of the world’s best content from other producers and distributors," said Managing Director Michael Wilson.
The station's news coverage will launch on Monday and will be entitled Ireland Live, airing at 6.30pm and 10pm every night.
According to the Irish Mirror, the early evening show will comprise the news of the day while the later programme will be more analysis-based.
UTV Ireland is available on Sky number 116, UPC number 110, Saorview number 6 and eVision 108.
