VIDEO: Ryan Gosling Gives Hollywood A Lesson On How To Pronounce Saoirse Ronan’s Name

"It's not even sorcery although it probably should be".

Cathy Donohue

Ryan Gosling is one of our favourite leading men and after watching him wax lyrical about our very own Saoirse Ronan, we’re properly in love.

Speaking at the Hollywood Awards last night, Ryan explained why Saoirse is the recipient of this year’s New Hollywood Award.

He also decided to instruct the audience on how to say her name, careful to tell everyone that it’s not “sorcery” even though he thinks “it probably should be”.

Saoirse has just turned 21 and her new film Brooklyn has garnered rave reviews with The Guardian’s Jordan Hoffman describing Saoirse’s portrayal of Eilis Lacey as “marvellous”.

We love the fact that Ryan decided to have a bit of fun with his presenting stint while still playing homage to Saoirse, a true talent.

Check out her acceptance speech below…we’re also slightly obsessed with her gold Lanvin dress.
