Now approaching its fifth season, Netflix is reportedly considering a spin-off series and fans are overjoyed about the potential project.
Netflix is reportedly considering releasing a prequel series about Mel's parents. The news, reported by Deadline, comes after Jessica Rothe and Callum Kerr were cast as Mel's parents in the show.
The team is introducing the characters as it considers expanding on Sarah and Everett's love story.
The actors will appear in flashback scenes set in the 1970s in the sixth season of the Netflix drama.
Viewers will be introduced to Sarah and Everett in the sixth season of Virgin River, but we may see more of them if the spin-off is approved.

Netflix confirmed he will play a huge role this season.
"Against the backdrop of Mel and Jack’s romantic spring wedding season, this sixth installment promises fresh twists and turns, escalating love triangles, delightful wedding drama, as well as uncovered secrets from Mel’s father’s past which will transport us to the magic and mystique of Virgin River in the 1970s."
