It’s serious competition lads.

So a short time ago, we called out to young camogie players who are passionate about the game. We gave them the opportunity to join Team Her in going head-to-head in a half-time challenge at the Liberty Insurance All-Ireland Senior Camogie Final, AND bag €7,000 for their club!

All they had to do was tell us how camogie made them ‘ready for the real world,’ and what life skills they’ve developed through playing the sport.

We received entries from lots of different clubs from all over the country, and these gals gave us such a surge of inspiration. We managed to whittle down entries, and we were left with the below for Team Her.

Now, we want YOU to decide who will go head-to-head with Team SportsJOE, and get that bit closer to winning the cash. So get voting below!

1. Caitlin Hunt (Glynn Barntown GAA Club)

Caitlin from Wexford was struggling in school, only to find out she was dyslexic. Now, playing camogie helps her to feel supported, confident and happy. And as you can see, she has a terrific team behind her.

2. Sinéad, Ciara, Kate and Laura (Sarsfields Glanmire)

Sinéad, Ciara, Kate and Laura all go to different schools, but training twice a week together has solidified their friendship. They’ve won games and lost games, but even after losing, they can come back even stronger.

3. Megan Hughes (St. Kevin’s GAA)

Megan’s encouraging mum is the reason she started playing camogie, and she has never looked back. So much confidence, skills and friendships have blossomed for Megan from playing the game.

4. Rebecca Lynch (Clane Camogie Club)

Rebecca feels like a champion and warrior once she sets foot on the field. Camogie gives her the best feeling of being a part of something bigger, and she says it has transformed her life. She has been playing since age four, and still wears her jersey with so much pride.

5. Hazel Austin (Naomh Maur)

Camogie gives Hazel the confidence needed to do well in school. Being super shy as a child, she says she’s fearless today. She knows having this drive to succeed (thanks to camogie) can be applied to anything in life.

The club with the most votes will make it to the Liberty Insurance All-Ireland Senior Camogie Championship Final in Croke Park to play a half-time challenge against Team SportsJOE, and for their chance to win a whopping €7,000 for their club! Vote for your favourite below, and let the games begin…
