WATCH: Grey’s Anatomy season 16 trailer reveals the aftermath of Meredith’s confession

Keeley Ryan

The first trailer for Grey’s Anatomy season 16 is here – and reveals the aftermath of Meredith’s big confession.

The end of season 15 saw DeLuca step in and try to take the fall for Dr. Meredith Grey, after she committed insurance fraud to help a father and daughter seeking asylum – and saved the daughter’s life.

The season finale ends with DeLuca and Meredith intending to come clean about what really happened. However, by the end of it all, both of the characters’ fates are a bit up in the air.

Based off the season 16 trailer, it looks like Meredith has confessed to what happened – or, at least, confessed to something.

Meredith can be seen performing court-ordered community service, picking up trash on the side of the road – and nit doesn’t look like things are going too well for her.

Then, it cuts to Miranda Bailey telling a visibly stunned Teddy Altman, Amelia Shepherd and Owen Hunt that a number of their co-workers would no longer be working at Grey Sloan.

“Due to criminal activity, Meredith Grey, Alex Karev and Richard Webber no longer work here,” she says.

Grey’s Anatomy season 16 starts on September 26 in the United States. You can check out the trailer below.

Earlier this week, showrunner Krista Vernoff revealed there was going to be a time jump in the season premiere.

Speaking to TV Lineshe said it will pick up “moments from where we left off” – and that all the cliffhangers would be addressed “pretty immediately”.
