They promise a “big and bold” Eurovision performance

Dublin based band Wild Youth will represent Ireland in this year’s Eurovision that will take place in Liverpool between May 9th and 13th.

They’ll perform sixth in the first semi-final of the show on Tuesday May 9th after Portugal and before Croatia. Norway will open semi-final one and Finland will close the show.

Wild Youth will sing their hit track We Are One in the Liverpool Arena to compete for a place in the final.

This is the first time Ireland has qualified for the Eurovision since 2018 and the entire nation seems to be getting behind the guys and showing their support.

Fifteen acts will perform during the first half of the competition but only the top ten will continue to the next stage.

The 20 qualifying acts from both semi-finals will join the ‘big five’ to compete for the winning spot. They include the UK, Germany, France, Italy and Spain, along with last year’s winners Ukraine.

Wild Youth’s lead singer, Conor O’Donohoe has promised a “big and bold” performance for this year’s Eurovision. He said they’re just focusing on the first hurdle of qualifying from the semi-final stage.

Ireland has participated in Eurovision more than 50 times and has a record seven wins, but Sweden are a closing in with 6 wins and the most top 5 results since 2000.
