Did you tune in?

Because it looks like a LOT of people were glued to their screens as the fourth series of Love Island kicked off last night on 3e at 9pm.

Last night’s rollercoaster episode saw the islanders coupled up for the first time, tension in the villa as a secret contestant, the 6ft 5 ADONIS, Adam, was thrown into the mix and it then all ended on a cliffhanger as newbie Adam was told to chose one of the girls to pair up with leaving one of the boys single. Gasp!

And last night’s drama certainly drew in an audience as the episode peaked at 135,600 Irish viewers with figures courtesy of 3e. That is a staggering jump of 192 percent since last year.

And it also looks like people within the ages of 16-34 were the biggest viewers of the debut episode of season four last night, coming in at 42 percent. And so far today, there has already been 19,300 catch- up streams on the 3player. Madness.

It looks like Love Island is set to well and truly take over our social lives and have us hooked to our screens as both romance and drama errupt from the vila.

The show continues tonight and it is safe to say we cannot wait. The islanders will be taking part in their first challenge and there looks to be trouble in paradise (already) for one couple. Can you guess who? We won’t give away any spoilers, promise.
