Love Island viewers are demanding the lie detector episode – but it’s not going ahead this year

'Give us the true drama that we deserve.'

Reckon Love Island has been a little dull this week?

As the couples go on their final dates, viewers have been complaining about the ‘lack’ of drama.

Yesterday night’s episode saw Amber and Greg, Maura and Curtis and India and Ovie enjoy their last romantic outings together.

Tonight it’ll be the turn of Anton and Belle and Tommy and Molly-Mae – but fans want producers to make them squirm.

Many have been calling for the return of the lie detector test.

To be fair, forcing the Islanders to answer questions about their relationships while strapped to a polygraph usually causes plenty of spats between the couples.

It’s been a week-eight staple in previous series but it won’t be going ahead this year.

ITV made the decision to scrap it following the death of a Jeremy Kyle Show contestant who had undergone a lie detector test days beforehand.

The show had already come under criticism for how it protects contestants’ mental health after the deaths of previous Islanders Mike Thalassitis and Sophie Gradon.
