The opera singer was hit with major backlash after Katya was spotted pushing his hand away from her midriff on camera.
The professional dancer looked extremely uncomfortable during the interaction but the pair claimed it was a joke.
Wynne said he's heartbroken over the incident and stressed that he is good friends with Katya.
Speaking on his radio show, the opera singer said:
"I want to say I'm absolutely heartbroken about the things that are being said about me in the past day. It's not nice to live in that time.
"Katya and I are really really close and we're really good friends and on Saturday night, we made a stupid joke that went wrong. We thought it was really funny. It has been totally misinterpreted."
The dancer wrote: "I need to make something crystal clear. The hand incident that happened on Saturday night was a very silly inside joke between Wynne and I.
"So even the idea that it made me feel uncomfortable or offended in any way is complete nonsense. It’s actually absurd. So let’s focus on how brilliantly Wynne Evans is doing and what an amazing dancer he’s becoming!" she added.
Despite the 'hand incident', the duo made it through to week five and will compete in next weekend's show.
Katya added: "Every day Wynne makes me smile and laugh, but every Saturday he leaves me absolutely speechless when he takes the dance to another level!"
