After all, you're hardly going to be able to achieve the perfect terrifying cinematic experience if you're just sat on your sofa or packed into a tiny theatre.
So in order to curb this sheer lack of authenticity, a cinema in Texas have decided to offer audiences the chance to watch Jaws while floating in some water.
Because who among us wouldn't want that?
Texas's Volente Beach Resort and Beachside Billy's will be showing the film on the water for the fifth year in a row this summer, meaning that yes, this is an actual event, and no, it's not just another April Fool's joke.
Between June and August, audiences will be treated to 16 'Dive In' shows, which include a "... keepsake shark-ified inner tube, fireworks display and the thrilling, one-of-a-kind experience of watching cinema’s greatest great whites with your feet dangling dangerously and deliciously in the water."
Sounds terrifying. And delicious.
Screening dates or ticket links have not yet been released for this year's showings of the movie, which means very little to us considering we're all the way over here in Ireland.
But if you happen to be around the Texas area this summer, keep an eye here for more information.
