They will be the talk of your festive gettogether, no doubt.

TikTok is a literal treasure throve when it comes to food trends, and I think we have all spent a good chunk of the past couple of years cooking and baking our way through a mountain of feta cheese pastas and whipped coffees.

However, this latest viral food trend is coming in hot right in time for the festive season – and we cannot wait to serve them up for dessert come Christmas Day.

Say hello to chocolate-covered strawberries in the shape of mini roasted turkeys.

And all you need is strawberries, mini marshmallows, pretzel sticks, and melted chocolate – and with just a little bit of work, these combined will transform into mini roasted turkeys.

A few different videos have been doing the rounds on TikTok – and later on Instagram, but we came across these easy to follow instructions on Delish.com:

First, wash and dry your strawberries really well. Take a fork or a toothpick and stick it in the top end of the strawberry to prep for dipping in chocolate. Place on a baking sheet lined with aluminium foil.

Snap one pretzel stick in half and push two mini marshmallows onto the end of one of the half sticks. Take scissors and shape the two marshmallows to look a little more like one long oval instead of two plump circles. This is serving as the “drumstick.” Repeat this process with the other half of the pretzel stick.

Melt some chocolate. Dip one side of the marshmallow end of the pretzel stick into the chocolate and stick it onto the lower third of the strawberry with the pretzel end down. Repeat on the other side.

Cut another marshmallow in half diagonally. Dip the cut end into the chocolate and place each half on either side of the top of the strawberry. These are the “turkey breasts.”

Give the chocolate five minutes to dry. Then, grab the strawberry by the fork or toothpick, and dip the whole thing in the melted chocolate.

A few tips here: Don’t leave the strawberry in the chocolate too long, or the marshmallow parts will fall off. And let the excess chocolate drip off before placing it back on the baking sheet. Put in the freezer for at least 10 minutes to let everything set, and then enjoy!
