Looks like Krispy Kreme is one step closer to arriving in Ireland

It's the news we've been waiting for.

Krispy Kreme has reportedly found a location for their Dublin debut.

The doughnut company has long been rumoured to be hunting for possible sites in the capital for an Irish outlet.

In fact, it’s been a little more than a year since we first heard the news.

And now, according to the Irish Independent, the chain has now picked Blanchardstown Shopping Centre in Dublin for their first location.

Greet Monday with a smile: bring some fresh hot doughnuts to work tomorrow and be the star of the office all week!

There’s no opening date for the possible Blanchardstown location just yet – but we’re hoping it’s sooner rather than later.

The mouth watering doughnut retailer, which was first established in 1937,  has more than 1,100 outlets across 26 countries.

Two of thirds of the shops are outside the US, with 90 in the UK alone.

But while this may be the company’s first location, it doesn’t sound like it’ll be their last.

A representative for real estate agent Morgan Williams previously confirmed to the Irish Times they were scouting for locations in Ireland.

He told the paper:

“They’re looking at expanding into Ireland.

“It’s a priority for them. It’s the next obvious place to go… there’s a real push on.”

Once the initial outlet is established, the publication reports that Krispy Kreme will be looking into opening smaller stores in places like airports and train stations.
