The sun is OUT! Here are 12 places you need to grab a cocktail in Dublin this weekend

Cheers to the weekend!

Denise Curtin

Sun’s out, huns out.

There is nothing to get you buzzing for a summer full of adventure like a bit of sunshine. After wearing woollies for what feels like eight months straight now, it is finally delightful to get the opportunity to show a little leg… or at least wear a lighter jacket.

And since it’s so sunny out, we reckon cocktails are in order.

The great thing about Dublin when the sun comes out, is that the place becomes a buzzing hub of activity. Many of the bars have incredible beer gardens and outdoor areas meaning you get to soak up that vitamin D while sipping on a cold bevy. THE DREAM.

So where to? Well, we could give you 1,000 places to try but for now, here are 12 places you need to grab a cocktail in this weekend.

1. The Marker Hotel

The king of all rooftop venues in Dublin, The Marker Hotel has the most incredible rooftop bar with the best views of Dublin.

2. Fade Street Social

Divine cocktails, great atmosphere and the perfect outdoor area to sip the evening away.

3. Urchin

A Ferraro Rocher cocktail among many on the menu… nuff said. Take us here.

4. Balfes

The perfect outdoor terrace and sun-trap perched at the front of the Westbury Hotel.

5. Sophie’s

This spot on top of the Dean Hotel also has a little rooftop area meaning you can soak up the sun while looking out over the city. Bliss.

6. The Jar

Pizza AND cocktails? Say no more.

7. House

The most Instagrammable beer garden in town, trust me.

8. L’Gueuleton

Another Fade Street gem, this place doesn’t just do superb drinks but AH-MAZING food too!

9. Pygmalion

One of my ultimate faves. Make sure you try the mojitos – they are both strong and delish, the best way to have it.

10. Coppinger Row

Across the path from Pygmalion, make sure you check out Coppinger Row for probably the best gin cocktail ever served in a martini glass.

11. The Vintage Cocktail Club

The VCC are masters at creating a deadly cocktail and there is nothing on the menu we wouldn’t be up for trying. Fact.

12. Peruke and Periwig

And finally this Dawson Street gem needs a mention, with cocktails and bar snacks all night long you’ll plan to just start the night off here and never leave.

As always, I am forever on the hunt for the best places for you to eat and drink in the capital. If you are feeling that brunch is what you just NEED tomorrow –then I have you covered in that department too, you can check out my favourite brunch spots here.

Enjoy your weekend and don’t forget your SPF!
