New Irish film Run & Jump, directed by Academy Award® nominated Steph Green, will open in cinemas nationwide on Friday May 2nd.
The heart-warming film stars Emmy®-nominated Will Forte (Nebraska, 30 Rock, Saturday Night Live), Maxine Peake (Shameless, Silk) and Edward MacLiam (Holby City) along with a strong supporting cast which includes Sharon Horgan (Pulling, Dead Boss), Ruth McCabe (Philomena, My Left Foot) and Michael Harding (Silence, Black Ice).
Co-written by Green and Kerry native Ailbhe Keogan, it follows the spirited and impossibly optimistic Vanetia (Peake) who is slowly rebuilding the life she loved following her husband’s (MacLiam) sudden personality-changing stroke. Forte plays a buttoned-up American neuropsychologist who arrives in Ireland to stay with the family to observe Vanetia’s husband. But his continued presence in the house sets the family on course for an emotional collision.
It has been described as “hilarious and heart-breaking…. One of the best Irish movies of the decade.”
