Between the excruciating cramps, mood swings and acne breakouts, it feels like the symptoms of your monthly reminder from your lady parts is constantly changing your body and its reactions.

Now it’s been confirmed that being on your period can make you think more like a man.

While it’s a clear indication that you are in fact a woman, according to Pauline Maki, Ph.D., associate professor of psychiatry and psychology at the University of Illinois at Chicago, the lower estrogen levels during your period can increase your ‘male cognitive skills.’

This means you’re more likely to excel at spatial thinking, map-reading and any skill that requires you to visually adapt to the stimulus.
