Aldi’s faux stone fire pit is coming back this month

Can we call it a cult product if it's only been around a year..?

Irish supermarkets have been killing it lately when it comes to outdoor homeware. Lidl has been giving us the goods. Dunnes has been a good shout. Tesco has also been there. Aldi has also, naturally, been dropping some serious bits in the lead up to the summer months. This week, the retailer announced that their faux stone fire pit will be back on sale this month for €59.99, so you can enjoy the warmth of a real wood fire from the comfort of your own back garden. Last year, tis exact product caused a storm across the country (yes, it did) as shoppers flocked to their locals as early as 5 in the morning to nab one of the pits, as well as a selection of log burners that had also gone on sale at the time. The chaos led to a temporary ban on the sale of Middle Aisle items, as supermarkets were forced to resort to selling just food and other essentials. This year, however, Middle Aisle Season is in full swing, and if 2020 was anything to go by, we're expecting there to be just as much drama over this faux stone fire pit as there was last year. The product, landing in stores across the country on June 20, is light, durable and simple to assemble. It comes in a geometric shape with a stone effect, and includes a black, high temperature fire bowl and chrome plated cooking grill. Also available to purchase will be a host of other picnic bits and back garden hosting memorabilia, including Aldi's own wine cooler bag. The bag, at €19.99, comes with a large main compartment, insulated compartment perfect for around 1.1 litres of wine, and a nifty pouring spout. Ideal for transporting your wine around the place this summer, without all the hassle of glass bottles. Lidl announced that their own wine cooler bag would be returning this summer too, so if you don't manage to pick one up in one store, chances are you'll find it in another. Aldi's faux stone fire pit and wine cooler bag will be available from June 20.
