Former Soap Star Opens Up About Split From Ex-Husband

Tamzin Outhwaite has spoken about her split from ex-husband Tom Ellis whom she divorced last year. Although it was widely believed that the couple split when Tom had a one-night stand, the actress has said there is a lot more to the story. Speaking to Essentials magazine, the 44-year-old said: "I wouldn't not be with my husband over a one-night stand is all I'll say". The mother of two said that she didn't want to give any more detail because she doesn't want to damage her children's relationship with their father. Tamzin, who has two daughters, Florence Elsie (6) and Marnie Mae (2), with Tom said: "I will tell them exactly what happened and it will come from me. He's still their dad and they still have a relationship". Tamzin pictured earlier this year The couple married in 2006 and their divorce was made official last year. Former Eastenders star Tamzin, who played Melanie Owen from 1998 until 2002, also revealed she is ready for new love. "The attention has been lovely. I never lost faith and I hope I never become anti-men. "It's been quite liberating to be a single woman in your 40s because I feel quite independent. "It's been a really good time; I've got my confidence back and I feel desirable again. It's taken a while to get there, it's taken a while to let people in but I'm certainly ready and open and up for it" said the actress.
