Yes, the first Saturday of May means World Naked Gardening Day.
The annual event is currently in its 12th year and encourages people to plant, weed, and prune while being at one with nature both (both horticulturally and anatomically).
The day was inspired by the huge success of the World Naked Bike Ride which started in 2004 and according to the World Naked Gardening website they believe:
“Our culture needs to move towards a healthy sense of both body acceptance and our relation to the natural environment.”
Anything promoting a healthy mind, body and environment surely deserves an applause.
With temperatures hitting 15C in some parts you may be swatting flies away from more than just your face.
