Christmas FM is back online today, and thank Christ for that

Jade Hayden

Praise Jesus.

Happy Thursday, lads.

And yes, it really is a happy Thursday today for the first time in a long time, because Christmas FM is back – and you can listen online now.

Everybody’s favourite festive radio station has returned to the digital airwaves in preparation for its official launch later this month.

This is the 13th year that the station has been running, and to celebrate they’ve opened their annual song competition to find the next Christmas classic.

Singers and songwriters are being encouraged to get their song entries into the Aldi Christmas FM Song Contest 2020 before the end of the month. The winner will have their Christmas song broadcast far and wide, as well as a prize of a gift card for Aldi worth €250.

Sound enough shout for being a bit festive.

Since it began broadcasting, Christmas FM has raised almost €2.5 million for a range of charities. This year’s charity partner was recently announced as ALONE, the organisation that supports older people to age at home.

Walter Hegarty, co-founder of Christmas FM, said: “Every Christmas we gather round to enjoy our favourite festive classics – The Pogues, Mariah, Slade, Bing and so many more.

“The Aldi Christmas FM Song Contest is a terrific opportunity for singers and songwriters to add their name to the list and have their song played across Ireland and around the world on Christmas FM.”

You can listen to Christmas FM today here, or listen on the app, your smart speaker or connected device at any time of the day or night.
