The promoters of next month’s Avicii gig have warned that anyone under the age of 18 will not be allowed entry to Marlay Park.

The Swedish DJ will perform at the site on Friday July 3rd and MCD issued a statement this week warning parents, guardians and fans planning to attend that the event is strictly over 18, with garda identification required.

Anyone underage will be refused entry to the gig without refund but anyone under 18 who has purchased a ticket is being the opportunity to avail of a full refund from their point of purchase up to 5pm on Friday June 26th.

Gig-goers have also been advised that anyone who arrives to the site intoxicated will be refused entry without refund and there will be a “zero tolerance” policy regarding alcohol consumption in public areas, as well as any illegal or anti-social behavior.

“Searches will be conducted on all patrons entering the arena by concert staff upon entry. Any person refusing to be searched may be refused entry. Garda will be on duty and will also be conducting searches at both point of entry and throughout the arena,” said Garda Superintendent Peter Duff, Tallaght Garda Station.

“Alcohol and anything which may be considered dangerous will not be permitted, and any persons found in possession of these items will be required to surrender them before they are allowed enter.”
