Jeremy Clarkson has been suspended from the BBC following a “fracas” with a producer this week.
The UK broadcaster issued a statement this afternoon announcing that Top Gear will not be aired this Sunday following the incident and that the popular host has been suspended “pending an investigation”.
The BBC declined to provide any further detail on the row, other than confirming that disciplinary action had not been taken against any other staff member.
“The BBC will be making no further comment at this time,” said a spokesperson.
Clarkson has been at the centre of controversy several times, having previously been accused of making racist and offensive comments on the show.
