If you’ve been given the honour of planning your sister or bestie’s hen do - here’s what you need to know

Some have always wanted an adventurous weekend in the sun, while others might prefer something more low-key and cozy. 

We spoke to lots of people on the streets of Dublin to find out about the different hen parts they’ve been to to spark some inspiration for you.

If your hen is a laid-back bride

A quiet getaway in a charming village might be the perfect option. 

As one person suggested: "Renting an Airbnb in a sweet little village somewhere" creates a cozy, homey vibe. 

Whether it’s a rural Irish village or a quaint spot in England like Rye, this option is ideal for brides who aren’t too keen on wild nights out. 

Another person shared a similar idea: "Airbnb a house and have a little get-together. Go out and then crash somewhere all together." 

It’s all about spending quality time with close friends in a peaceful setting.

If your hen is a party lover

They’ll want their hen do to be as lively as possible, iconic party destinations like Ibiza or Marbella are hard to beat. 

"Either Ibiza or Marbella. I am getting married in Cyprus so I will be going to Ayia Napa," one person said.

Whether it’s beach clubs by day and nightclubs by night, these locations always promise an unforgettable time with your hen before tying the knot.

If your hen is a sun-worshipper

Then sunshine is a must. "Somewhere sunny. Portugal, like somewhere in the mountains," one person suggested. 

For a bride who wants to explore new places and take in stunning views while enjoying some much-needed warmth, destinations like Portugal are perfect.

If your hen loves to explore

Dublin is a fantastic option. 

One suggestion was: "Dublin would be a nice spot for a hen do. Lots of bars, plenty of things to do." 

Dublin combines lively pub culture with modern bars, giving the group plenty of options for both daytime activities and a vibrant night out. 

Another person shared their unique Dublin experience: "In Barcelona we had a fab hen and then we had another one here in Dublin. 

“We were in the restaurant to start off the night and then ran into Bono. Come on, I mean how can you top that?"

Whether your bride-to-be is more about cozy get-togethers in a rented house or an all-out party in Ibiza, there’s a destination and style for everyone.
