She might follow in Molly-Mae’s footsteps.

Love Island star Gemma Owen could be landing a six-figure fashion deal following reports that both Boohoo and PrettyLittleThing are interested in working with her.

According to The Sun, Gemma met with Umar Kamani, who is the CEO of PrettyLittleThing earlier this week.

A source told the paper: “She is being wooed by PrettyLittleThing who are desperate to sign her as they think she is the perfect new face of the brand.

“She’s beautiful and they feel like she is the right choice out of this year’s islanders to follow in the footsteps of Molly-Mae Hague, who is now creative director of the brand.”

They later added: “All the big fashion brands are fighting over her, which proves what hot property she is. She is the girl everyone wants to sign.”

Boohoo, meanwhile, are also reportedly interested in working with Gemma.

Should Gemma chose to work with PrettyLittleThing, she will follow in the footsteps of Molly-Mae Hague who was appointed as the brand’s creative director in 2021.

The influencer’s involvement with the brand, however, has been met with some criticism, with many pointing to the undeniable issues with fast fashion.

Earlier this year, Love Island alumni Brett Staniland led a protest outside Molly-Mae’s fashion show for PrettyLittleThing.

The point of the protest was to highlight sustainability issues around fast fashion and to call for fairer wages for PLT’s factory workers.

He told OK! Magazine: “The fashion industry doesn’t get taken seriously with the climate crisis. Boohoo Group don’t care about anyone, and they contribute more to the crisis than any other fashion brand in the UK.

“They use women of colour at the front of their campaigns to mask women of colour in their supply chains that they don’t pay. It’s exploitation from where ever you look at it.”
