He’s entered his Ken era.

If there’s one trend we’re going to be seeing everywhere this summer, it’s Barbiecore.

Ahead of the release of Greta Gerwig’s Barbie next year, hot pinks, pastels and blonde hair dye is set to take over, and one unexpected fashion icon leading the pack is none other than Greg O’Shea.

The rugby player and TV presenter entered his Barbie era after debuting his platinum blonde locks on Instagram.

“Blonde for the summer,” he wrote in the caption. “What we thinking?”

In the comments section, Erica Coady recognised the Barbiecore aesthetic instantly, writing: “well hello Ken! Love it.”

Greg then jokingly tagged the star of the upcoming Barbie film, Margot Robbie, and wrote: “notice me please”.

Irish blogger Lousie Cooney also took to the comments section, writing: “It’s a wig!!”

Rosanna Davison, meanwhile, welcomed Greg to the blonde club, writing: “Blondes have more fun.”

Rob Kenny, who also went blonde yesterday, commented on the coincidence.

“Was it a coincidence we went blonde on the same day?” he wrote. “Only our lord will know.”

Some fellow Love Island alumni also embraced Greg’s new look.

Chuggs Wallis, who is no stranger to a bottle of blonde hair dye, gave the rugby player a word of warning.

“Hope you’ve stocked up on purple shampoo mate, looking fresh,” he said.

Matthew McNabb complimented Greg on his new look writing “variety is the spice of life!”

While she didn’t instantly see Ken vibes in Greg’s hair, Doireann Garrihy saw a resemblance to an Irish star.

“It’s giving @johnny.smacks,” she wrote.

Indeed, it seems Greg is on trend embracing Barbiecore, and he’s far from the only celebrity to do so.

Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly both recently channelled Barbie and Ken at the premiere of Kelly’s documentary Life in Pink. For more on all things Barbiecore, head to our definitive guide right here.
