Listen, sometimes it’s just nice to sit back and pretend that we have loads of money, a fabulous house with a pool and five exotic foreign holidays booked for the upcoming year.

While we might not be made of money, every now and then it doesn’t hurt to dream what life would be like as part of the rich and famous elite.

We decided to give ourselves a little bit of motivation (and jealousy) and have come up with a list of our top 30 millionaires under 30. Here’s how they made their fortunes.

1. Niall Horan

Age: 23

How: Being one-fifth of One Direction definitely has its perks. The Mullingar native is worth an estimated €35 million.

2. Rory McIllroy

Age: 27

How: The 27-year-old golf legend has knocked up a few million during his time playing the game, just under €60 million to be exact.

3. Collison brothers

Age: 26 and 28

How: Brothers Patrick and John Collison have an estimated net worth of €1.02bn, which they have acquired through their online payments system Stripe, putting them joint 1,795th on Forbes rich list. Not bad for two lads from Limerick.

4. Taylor Swift

Age: 27

How: The country singer turned pop princess has amassed huge amounts of wealth thanks to her sold-out tours, grammy winning tunes and platinum selling albums. We might just be a little bit jealous of her amazing home too.

5. Evan Spiegel

Age: 26

How: At the ripe old age of 26, the Snapchat CEO is the youngest billionaire in the world after launching the popular photo-sharing app with two of his former classmates.

6. Saoirse Ronan

Age: 22

How: Saoirse has an estimated net worth of $2.5 million thanks to her famous roles in films like Brooklyn and Lovely Bones.

7. Conor McGregor

Age: 28

How: Does he even need an introduction? McGregor is a self-made millionaire following his UFC success over the last few years.

8. Andy Murray

Age: 29

How: Scottish tennis superstar Andy Murray is the former Olympic, Wimbledon, and US Open champion. Needless to say, he has racked up a tidy sum ($44 million).

9. Emma Watson

Age: 26

How: Have you ever heard of a little thing called Harry Potter or Beauty and the Beast? Emma has also made millions through her various modelling contracts with Burberry, Chanel and Lancôme.

10. Daniel Radcliffe

Age: 27

How: Like his old pal Emma, Daniel has created a nice little nest egg for himself thanks to the HP films. By the end of 2015 he had an estimated net worth of £59.7 million.

11. Gareth Bale

Age: 27

How: Welsh man and football superstar Gareth Bale is on a cracking  £300,000 a week wage at Real Madrid. When you add on his endorsement deals with Adidas, Sony and Electric Arts, you can bet he is worth a pretty penny.

12. Adele

Age: 28

How: Adele has managed to earn a lot of moolah during her 27 years. She is now Britain’s richest ever female musician thanks to her globally successful tours and albums. Her net worth is a whopping $122.43 million. Cha-ching!

13. Maria Sharapova

Age: 29

How: Maria has won her fair share of prize money over the years but she has earned most of her money through lucrative endorsement deals with brands like Evian, Tag Heuer and American Express.

14. Ed Sheeran

Age: 26

Young Ed used to sing about sleeping on his friend’s couch but the songwriter now has an estimated worth of $60 million. We’d say his new album will help boost those figures too.

15. Lukas Walton

Age: 30

How: Lukas is the grandson of Walmart founder Sam Walton. Lukas now owns a sizeable portion of the supermarket chain.

16. Kyrie Irving

Age: 25

How: He might only be 25 but basketball player Kyrie Irving has made an absolute mint already thanks to his sponsorship deal with Nike.

17. Usain Bolt

Age: 30

How: The Jamaican sprinter is the first person to hold both the 100 metres and 200 metres world records since fully automatic time became mandatory. His sponsorship with Puma exceeds $10 million a year.

18. Drake

Age: 30

How: The Canadian rapper comes just after Adele in the music sales stakes. He also brings in hefty sums thanks to deals with Sprite, Apple and Nike.

19. Jennifer Lawrence

Age: 26 

How: J-Law was Hollywood’s highest paid woman last year. Her success in films like Silver Linings Playbook and The Hunger Games have won her a firm spot in the Hollywood millionaire club.

20. The Weeknd

Age: 27

How: The Weeknd earned a massive $55 million over the last year alone thanks to his chart-topping album and sold-out world tour. Nice for some eh?

21.  Justin Bieber

Age: 23

How: The Biebs might only be 23 but he has gathered up a lot of money since his career started way back in 2008 when he signed with RBMG. His net worth was  $200 million last year.

22. Rihanna

Age: 29

How: The Barbados songstress has 8 Grammys, 12 Billboard Music Awards, 12 American Music Awards and 8 People’s Choice Awards so it’s not surprising that she is part of the millionaire’s club. Her net worth is reported to be $160 million.

23. Lionel Messi 

Age: 29

How: Messi is the world’s second highest paid athlete. While we reckon FC Barcelona probably pays him a pretty decent wage Messi makes a lot of his money through endorsements with Adidas, Gatorade and many more.

24. Jordan Maron

Age: 25

How: Turns out you can make a hella lot of money through Youtube. Jordan aka Captain Sparklez started making Youtube videos 7 years ago and since then his stellar career has seen him rack up $8.2 million.

25. Robert Nay

Age:21

How: Did you ever hear of an app called Bubble Ball? Well, coding prodigy Robert Nay created the app when he was only 14 years-old and put it on the app store as a free download. In two weeks the game had over a million downloads and Bubble Ball would eventually dethrone the insanely popular Angry Birds as the most downloaded game in the free app store. Not too shabby.

26. Ashley Qualls

Age: 26

How: Another tech genius Ashley Quall set up her website Whateverlife.com when she was only 14.  The website helps people customise their social media pages and today it gets 7,000,000 visiters per month.

27. Robert Pattinson

Age: 30

How: It looks like all that time spent playing broody and blood-thirsty Edward Cullen has definitely paid off. Robert’s net worth is supposed to be $63 million.

28. Cara Delevingne

Age: 24

How: Endless catwalk shows, makeup endorsements and even a few acting gigs. It’s not hard to see how Cara earned her millions.

29. Kygo

Age: 25

How: Tropical house giant Kygo (or Kyrre Gørvell-Dahll as he is known to his friends) has had a slew of chart-toppers over the last few years and it seems to have paid off. He is now worth $5 million.

30. Miley Cyrus

Age: 24

How: While Hannah Montana definitely helped her build a nice little nest egg, Miley has earned herself some serious cash through her music career and various acting roles since then. She is now worth a cool $36 million.
