An image of Meghan Markle has been removed from Instagram.

According to reports, the photo was taken down from the social media site because of fears it could be viewed as a break with royal protocol. It featured the Duchess of Sussex smiling at the camera together with Givenchy's artistic director, Claire Waight-Keller (the designer behind Meghan Markle's wedding dress) and actress Rosamund Pike. The black and white photo has been described as a 'photobooth-style image' and it was originally posted on the official Instagram account of the British Fashion Council. Apparently, the image, which you can see here, didn't impress royal officials and so it had to be swiftly removed.   A source told The Mail on Sunday:

"There was something ostentatious in the way she posed holding her bump, plus she was wearing dark nail varnish that the Queen hates. "It wouldn’t be surprising if, aware of that, the duchess herself asked for it to be taken down".

Reports claim that the image was swapped out for the below shot which instead shows the mum to be addressing guests of the British Fashion Awards before presenting Claire Waight-Keller with the much-coveted award of British Designer of the Year. It could just be that they decided the above image was more fitting and that's all there was to it, who knows? If rumours are to believed, royal staff have new nicknames for Meghan and Harry, with the couple now termed 'Monica and Chandler'. Meghan has been described as 'controlling and bossy' hence the Monica nickname but we have to wonder is it all getting a little out of hand at this point?
