Hard to believe that Aaliyah has been dead 15 years.

Yesterday marked the 15th year anniversary of the untimely death of R&B superstar Aaliyah. Gone but well and truly not forgotten, her memory was honoured across all social media platforms, and most notably, by pop goddess Beyoncé.

On August 25, 2001, Aaliyah and eight others were killed in a plane crash in the Bahamas after filming a music video for her upcoming single. At the time, her death sent shockwaves through the music industry. In such a short time, the Try Again singer had appeared in high budget Hollywood film ‘Romeo Must Die’, released three albums and won countless awards, including a Grammy for Best Female R&B Vocalist.

She worked with the best of the best during her short life, including hip hop queen Missy Elliot and mega producer Timbaland.
