‘Being able to have a life…’ So Emma Watson doesn’t do selfies

Niamh Maher

It once was the autograph, now it’s the selfie, that’s just how it is.

Well, if you bump into Emma Watson on the street, it’s probably best NOT to hound her for a picture.

The 26-year-old Beauty and the Beast (eeeeeeeep) star is on the March cover of Vanity Fair where she explains her opposition to the dreaded trend;

“For me, it’s the difference between being able to have a life and not,”

“If someone takes a photograph of me and posts it, within two seconds they’ve created a marker of exactly where I am within 10 meters… I just can’t give that tracking data.”

To be fair, this makes an awful lot of sense.

The Harry Potter veteran goes on to say she’ll never refuse a snap with a child and that it’s just about choosing those interactions.

Whatever you say Belle, we now also hate selfies, and just want to be best friends, that OK?
