It’s awkward when you break up. But when you work with you now ex, we can only imagine the complications… and that’s before you have to kiss on camera. During an interview on “Watch What Happens Live”, Gossip Girl star Penn Badgley revealed his on-off relationship with Blake Lively caused a few awkward moments when the off-screen couple split, despite being in love on the show. The pair dated sporadically from 2007 to 2010 (a time that overlapped with their characters’ on-screen relationship), meaning their love-life brought some pretty awkward encounters for Penn. When asked about his best and worst on-screen kisses, the 28-year old said: “I’ll say Blake because we actually had a relationship at the time. And worst? Maybe Blake after we broke up.” Penn later insisted that the pair were “consummately professional” during the last two years of filming the hit TV show post break-up: “I think we should both pat ourselves on the back for getting through it — because, you know, anything is complicated in that way, and we handled it.” But seeing as Blake later married one of her on-screen kisses in Green Latern co-star Ryan Reynolds, we doubt she’ll be pinning the honour of best kiss on Penn.
