Alex Reid Releases a Statement Following his Arrest Yesterday

Alex Reid has released a statement following his arrest yesterday, after he tried to break into the home she shares with fiancée Chantelle Houghton and their 11-week old daughter.

The statement, which has been published on Alex’s official website  reads: “In the early hours of this morning Alex was arrested at the address he shares with his partner Chantelle Houghton, after she called police following a disturbance.”

“The reasons for Alex’s arrest have been widely publicised and in some cases inaccurate and based on conjecture. Alex considers this a private matter and therefore is not prepared to comment on it save to say that he assisted police with their enquiries and following that, the police have taken no further action – 5th September.”

Wow, so what happened? Well the police arrived at the scene in the early hours of the morning after they received reports that there was a disturbance at Alex and Chantelle’s home.

According to reports, the couple had been on the rocks for a number of weeks since their baby was born, but apparently the situation escalated yesterday and Alex was arrested on “suspicion of criminal damage and using violence to secure entry.”

Chantelle and Alex have been having relationship issues in recent weeks.

Over the past few weeks, the couple made it clear that their relationship had been under pressure since the birth of baby Dolly, with Chantelle admitting that she sometimes has heart palpitations.

“Things have been really strained. There’s never a day without drama,” said Chantelle, speaking to OK! Magazine recently.

So admissions of drama and full on domestic disturbances? We hope that Chantelle and Alex manage to sort things out soon, especially given the fact that they now have another person to think about with regards to their relationship.
