Amanda Byram Goes on Disastrous Dates

Television presenter Amanda Byram has revealed that she is not having the best of luck in the dating department since splitting with her long-term beau last year.

The 39 year old, who split with her rugby-playing fiancé Craig McMullen last year, has been on a number of dates since the break-up but they haven’t exactly been enjoyable.

Amanda and Craig were together for three years before they split.

She explained: ‘I’m just like anyone else who has just broken up with someone and finds themselves newly single… I’ve been on some disastrous dates in the last year.’

One in particular seems to have stuck in Amanda’s mind: ‘In Sydney, I was set up with a guy and we were out having a drink when these two Irish girls came up and asked me for a picture. He then asked ‘Are you famous?’

‘And then texted his Irish friend to ask if he knew me. He went right up to my face, took a photo and sent it to his friend.’

It was a date that she not only would love to wipe out but that completely changed her approach to finding a new catch.

‘It was horrific. At this point, I decided two things – I’m going to wind up with someone from Ireland or someone who understands the industry,’ she told VIP.
