Amy de Bhrún welcomes her second baby
He is absolutely gorgeous.
Irish actor - and Her's current Digital Cover Star - Amy de Bhrún has welcomed her second baby.
The Line of Duty star shared three gorgeous pictures of her baby boy with her followers on Instagram this morning. In one black and white photo, she cradles her son in her arms, while another shows proud dad Sean kissing the newborn.
In her caption, Amy wrote: "21.9.21. River Thomas Branigan sailed into our lives yesterday at 15:42 weighing in at exactly the same as his big sister 7lbs 10oz."
She continued: "We are besotted, grateful and cannot thank the amazing staff at The Coombe enough."
De Bhrún, who plays Steph in the hugely popular crime drama, is also mum to her little girl Billie. The star recently spoke to Her about her pregnancy, as well as the impact of Ireland's Covid-19 maternity restrictions.
Amy said: "There's been such a disconnect between restrictions being lifted elsewhere and nothing happening for maternity hospitals.
"It made me think of all the campaigning we'd done for bodily autonomy in this country, and I thought 'why am I not speaking out about this?'
"People were flying out on holidays, GAA matches were being organised, I was in the cinema with my husband and I was like 'sorry, we can sit in the cinema together but you can't be there for the birth of our child?' which is what the restrictions still were for a lot of places at the time."
She also spoke about her own experience of giving birth. Amy said: "You can feel very powerless. Partners are often seen as visitors and they're so not. They're so central. Labour is an entire process and hospitals are already understaffed. A partner needs to be there the entire time to advocate for you, to help you."
