With the shock news that Tulisa has been fired from the X-Factor just yesterday, it certainly looks like Simon Cowell is looking for new ways to shake things up. The millionaire announced that he is working on a new global talent competition, but this time the competition will be online.
The TV talent scout will team up with online giant YouTube for a talent competition entitled “You Generation.” The contest will run for a year, beginning on March 20th.
Similar to the hugely successful Britain’s Got Talent, “You Generation” will focus on finding new stars amongst musicians, make-up artists, photographers and other talented individuals who perhaps don’t have an outlet for their work.
In order to enter the competition, the contestants will be asked to upload their videos to YouTube and will be judged by a panel, which will no doubt be picked by the media mogul himself. Different categories will be showcased every two weeks.
The competition will begin on March 20th and will run in 26 different languages with prizes not announced as of yet.
Online is an area Cowell has been attempting to tap into for quite a while, there was even talk of people being allowed to vote through their twitter accounts for the new X-Factor series. More importantly, will this spell out the end of X-Factor?
Here is Simon’s teaser for his new venture...
